Mira Mann, Seller’s remorse, KIT Düsseldorf, 2023.
Mira Mann is an artist working across film, performance, sculpture and site sensitive installation. Their practice dwells in the ruptures between memory and experience, reality and fiction, that arise through transcultural relationships. Whether working with storytelling methods such as traditional Korean pungmul or the anecdotes of their own Mother, Mann’s practice visualises social structures, collective memory and the new narratives that emerge when identities and histories play, clash and intersect.
Mira Mann lives and works between Düsseldorf and Paris. Recent projects include The 15th Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju (2024); rain real, Shmorévaz, Paris (2024); objects of the wind II, Klosterruine, Berlin (2024); Tool, Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf (2023); Let me tell you en detail (songs of the underwater palace), de Appel, Amsterdam (2022). Their work has been featured in Wormhole, a bi-annual publication co-organized with Anna R. Winder and Thomas Arthur Spallek. Mann was awarded the Peter Mertes Stipend (2024).
