Hannan Jones and Shamica Ruddock are artists whose practices centre around a shared process of spatial planning and sonic strategising. Their performances and sonic environments bring them into conversation with interconnected histories that exist across borders. Jazz and improvisation, Algerian resistance and the creolised context of the Caribbean, all convene in the work, creating new sites of encounter for places, people and histories, known and unknown.

Hannan Jones and Shamica Ruddock live and work in Glasgow and London respectively. Recent collaborative projects include, Reimagining In Conversation: A New Poetics, Algorithmic Poetry Fellowship, Akademie Schloss, Stuttgart x Liquid Architecture, Melbourne (2023); Re-imagining in Conversation, In the Inner Bark of the Tree, SAVVY Contemporary Archive Sites, Berlin (2023) and Re-imagining In Conversation w/ Shamica Ruddock (audio-visual essay commission), Centre for Contemporary Arts X A/C Projects, Glasgow (2022); The Shift, Wells Projects, Margate (2022).
