Circuit Conductors are a group of young people who are trained and experienced in leading arts workshops for children and other young people. The Conductors all have their own practices as artists, curators and/or museums educators and have been supported through a programme at Wysing Arts Centre and Kettle’s Yard. This Summer they led a series of exciting and popular children’s activities at a range of venues around Cambridgeshire. The Conductors will be taking inspiration from Andromedan Sad Girl to help children access ideas, experiment, create, express themselves, and enjoy contemporary art.
Wednesday 25 October – Artefacts, relics and untold stories.
Come and discover strange and mysterious objects within our current exhibition and explore ideas of lost civilisations and future worlds. Piece together the untold stories by constructing artefacts, sculptures and statues of your own undiscovered civilisation.
Thursday 26 October – Human(ish)
Everyone wonders what it would be like to be a bit more like another animal. Why not see? Watch yourself slowly transform into a new creature through photography and collage in our Human(ish) workshop.
Friday 27 October – Whose future? Your future...
How do you imagine the future? What do you think it will look like? Can you predict what you will be doing? In this workshop participants will explore these ideas through activities such as costume making, performance and photography. Using the artworks made in the session, we will create a collaborative time capsule together as a way to preserve our new world.
Saturday 28 October – Dance & Draw
Using our own bodies, dance and shadows we’ll create a mural. We will paint and draw life-size figures that parade along the wall, experimenting with paint and texture.
ALL WELCOME – BOOKING ESSENTIAL. The workshops are suitable for 6-12 yr olds, and cost £8.50 per child per workshop or £30 for all 4. You are welcome to attend one, two, three or all four workshops. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are encouraged to join in! Please click here to book.
